This meeting was run off on a perfect afternoon, sunny and, some would say, too warm – certainly a  big change from the previous weekends.

The fields in all categories were smaller than in previous years, but the racing was excellent – thanks to all that turned up, riders and pacers, it would not be a meeting without you, and of course thanks to the commissaires and volunteer officials, without you the riders would not have the chance to compete. A special message from the First Aid lady – she enjoyed her lazy afternoon in the sunshine.

The results from all the individual races can be found under the results tab on our website. The omnium results and main Bordeaux-Paris event follow below.

Chris Macleod took a lot of fantastic pictures yesterday afternoon – check out the album on his facebook page.

A strong showing by ladies of all age categories, from A youth to masters, it was close racing all the way to the end. It is lovely to see that women’s racing is getting more competitive. A special mention to Zoe Brookes for her solo ride in the points race, winning four of the sprints.

Mikey Mottram and his pacer quickly moved to the front of the race, Stephen Bradbury with his pacer moved into second and the two lapped the field before Alistair Rutherford and his pacer settled into third place behind Stephen, one lap down. These three stayed together for a long time, until a well-timed attack by Stephen left Mikey unable to respond. A fantastic race to watch, well done all.
